Karnan is the much-touted film of R S Vimal after his block-buster movie Ennu Ninte Moideen. Prithviraj was announced as the title hero but now a big change has come to this cast. South Indian super Star Chiyan Vikram is going to replace Prithviraj, say reports.

R S Vimal himself has announced on his Facebook page that the film would be made with Vikram in the lead; the budget of the film has been put at Rs 300 crore. The film will have Malayalam and Hindi version and will be ready for release in 2019. The new title will be Maha Veer Karnan.

As the old producers have withdrawn from the project, the film will be produced by New-York-based United Film Kingdom. The film will start shooting in October.
