Singers K J Yesudas and S P Balasubramaniam, the two icons in Indian cinema music, have united after 27 years. They have come together for rendering the song Ayya Swami for a bilingual film.

B K Harinarayanan and Palani Bharathi have written the songs for the film. In Tamil, the film will have the title ‘Keni’ and in Malayalam, it will have the name ‘Kinar’. The songs have been composed by M Jayachandran. The peppy song is already a hit in YouTube.

Jaya Prada, Revathy, Pashupathy, Pathipan, Archana, Nasar, Parvathy Nambiar, Indrans, Ranji Panicker, Joy Mathew and Anu Hasan will appear in important roles in the film. The film that deals with the water scarcity along with Tamil Nadu-Kerala border has been scripted by M A Nishad.

The last time the singers united was in 1991 for singing Kattukuyilin Manassukkulle for the film Dalapathi, directed by Mani Ratnam.
