THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: KPCC president M M Hassan said at a press conference here on Wednesday that a case should be registered under UAPA against the accused in the murder of Youth Congress leader Shuhaib in Kannur.

“It has become clear that the CPM is responsible for the crime. The conspiracy angle should also be probed. If Kannur district secretary P Jayarajan’s statement that the CPM has no role in the murder is true, the culprits should not be protected. He should also promise that fund-raising won’t be held to conduct the trial. As the political killings are on the rise, Pinarayi Vijayan should resign as home minister. Moreover, in order to prevent Kerala from becoming a pool of blood, home ministry should be taken away from the CPM

Hassan said murder was committed with clear knowledge of district leaders and there is proof for this. E P Jayarajan, the MLA of the Assembly constituency, has been silent over this. In Kannur police have been functioning as CPM’s B team. If strong action is not taken against offenders, the Congress will start strong protest programmes,” Hassan said.
