THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Area Development Societies (ADS) in the Kazhakuttom, Kalady, Kulathoor and Punnakkamughal wards of the Thiruvananthapuram Corporation have been selected for the Swachhta Excellence Award instituted by the Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs.

The ADSs were selected by a Central team from among 21 applications that were shortlisted by a State-level committee, headed by the Kudumbasree Executive Director. As many as seven ADSs from the State have been selected for the award. The awards will be presented at a function that will be held at the Pravasi Bhartiya Kendra in New Delhi on March 23, according to Mayor V K Prasanth.
