THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Tomin J Thachankary, who took charge as the KSRTC MD on Monday has said in an interview with Kerala Kaumudi ‘Flash’ that he would not be an MD who would govern the organisation sitting at the top.

He said he would lead the organisation by also understanding the problems at lower level. He added that that he would concentrate on drivers, conductors and depots. He also said that he would not just be in Thiruvananthapuram to head the organisation.

“I’ll work as a conductor and a driver. I’ll work in every department of the organisation. One day, I’ll become a conductor, and a driver another day. I’ll also work as checker and will also work in the mechanical division, accounts and so on. By doing so, I’ll be able to understand the difficulties of the staff, and can also learn about what goes into each department. Only by understanding the functioning of each department would a person be able to head an organisation effectively,” he said.

Thachankaryis taking charge as the KSRTC MD as an additional duty, as he is already the chief of the State Crime Records Bureau.

He is coming to head the transport department after serving as the chief of fire force.
