THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The investigation team has found out that the lady doctor, who was subjected to surgery at the Regional Cancer Research Centre (RCC), did not die due to lapse in treatment.

The probe headed by RCC additional director Dr. Ramdas, and deputy superintendent Dr. Rejanish has found out that there has been no lapse on the side of RCC officials in attending to the lady doctor who was in a critical condition, and that they have followed all the right procedures. They have handed over this report to health secretary and RCC director Dr. Paul Sebastian.

It was Dr. Mary Reji, wife of Dr. Reji Jacob who is practicing in Ras al-Khaimah, who died. Dr. Reji had alleged through a post in Facebook that his wife died due to lapse in treatment at the RCC, following which the RCC director ordered for a probe on the incident.

Mary Reji was diagnosed with spinal lymphoma in 2017. The doctors advised to remove her spleen when she was admitted at the RCC here. Dr. Reji alleged that Mary died on March 18 due to complications that arose during the laparoscopy surgery to remove her spleen.
