THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:  The Varkala police arrested a 31-year-old man in connection with a 12-year-old murder case. The accused, identified as Shameen of Edava, had fled the country while on bail in the case. He was accused of the murder of a youth at Edava in May 2006. He had allegedly murdered a person named Ardatt over a dispute regarding the sale of a mobile phone. Shameen was arrested, but was granted bail under strict conditions. However, he managed to flee the country and secure a job as driver in Saudi Arabia. A lookout notice had been issued for him in all airports in the country two years ago. He was arrested by the police when he landed in Cochin International Airport. The police found that he had visited his native place many times, prior to the issuance of the lookout notice. He was remanded in judicial custody after being produced in a court.
