KOCHI: As part of BJP's strategy to have an upper hand in Kerala in the ensuing elections to the Lok Sabha, Union Minister Smriti Irani called on prominent literary figure M K Sanoo at his residence here on Monday.

The meeting was part of the BJP's programme to make the prominent citizens of the state, aware about the Narendra Modi-led NDA government's achievements in the last four years.

The minister arrived at Sanoo's house with BJP leader V Muraleedharanan and remained there for about 30 minutes.

Asked about the purpose of the Union Minister's visit, Sanoo said Irani handed over two leaflets to him, containing achievements of the Modi Government and sought his views on it.

Stating that he would give it to her in writing, the litterateur said ''It is the duty of a citizen to support good things done by any government."
