       Mohanlal- Prabhu unites after 22 years

Mohanlal-Priyadarshan teams epic project Kunjali Marakkar will also feature Tamil actor Prabhu in a key role.  Mohanlal and Prabhu are joining after a gap of 22 years. Their last film together  was Kalapani (1996) which was also directed by Priyadarshan. Titled Marakkar Arabikadalinte Simham, the project's motion poster featuring dialogue was earlier released.

The film will be also featuring veteran actor Madhu as Kunjali Marakkar I, also known as Kuttyali Marakkar. As per history there are four Marakkars,and Mohanlal will be donning the role of Kunjali Marakkar IV. This film will mostly focus on Kunjali marakkar IV. Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan are reported to have been approached to play Kunjali marakkar III & IV. Antony Perumbavoor, Santosh T Kuruvilla, CJ  Roy are jointly producing this film. Priyadarshan himself has scripted the movie.  

A film titled 'Kunjali Marakkar ' had released in  1967. The film featured Kottarakkara Sreedharan Nair as Marakkar. Prem Nazir too played a key role in the movie.
