KOCHI: Kerala high court has strongly criticised the government for not executing its order to evict Kalamassery Pathadipalam Manathui Padathu Shaji’s house and land.
“Kerala is not a lawless land. The government is obliged to execute the order,” said the court, which also asked the government to submit solution to the problem in an affidavit within three weeks.
The court observed that if the government fail to implement court order, justice system will fail. “Remember that India is a republic. It is the responsibility of the government to take precautionary measures in such cases. If legal solution is not possible, the government can rehabilitate the house woman.”
Meanwhile, the government explained to the court the circumstances that prevented it from executing the court order. The government said that the situation was emotionally charged and popular mood in favour of the family.
Home Secretary, DGP and collector were made party in the case.
