KOTTAYAM: Now the Congress’ political circles are agog with discussions on who would contest the Parliamentary election from Kottayam constituency during the Parliamentary election.

The million dollar question is whether the seat will go to the Congress or the Kerala Congress. However, both parties are expecting the seat and started preparation for this.

Following the return of Mani group to UDF, the Rajya Sabha seat was given to Jose K Mani. Hence the hearsay is that Congress will contest from Kottayam and Idukki seat will be given to Mani Group.

Now, there are speculations that Oommen Chandy will contest the Lok Sabha seat from Kottayam. There are also rumours that if the UPA government comes to power in the Lok Sabha election, Chandy will become a Union minister.

Meanwhile, Mani Group leaders say they will give up Kottayam seat and their candidate will contest the seat.
