THRISSUR: Congress leader Padmaja Venugopal alleged that not only three police officers but five active political leaders are also behind the ISRO spy case. “I will reveal their names to the judicial commission. I will not say publicly that Oommen Chandy was behind this. K Karunakaran is a victim of group politics. He was cheated in the name of spy case by people whom he trusted. He could have revealed their names before. Therefore, I am not revealing their names now”, said Padmaja Venugopal in a press meet held at Thrissur.

“While everyone else got justice in the case, only K Karunakaran died without getting justice. It is the responsibility of the Congress party to prove the innocence of K Karunakaran. The officers were influenced by some political leaders. I will respond in detail about this after discussing this with everyone”, she said.

Meantime, Padmaja’s allegations have sparked a new political controversy. Everyone are discussing about the identity of those five political leaders. Former congress leader Cheriyan Phillip has also responded that the spy case was used as a weapon against Karunakaran. This issue will be discussed in the coming days as more responses are coming.
