NEST 2012 on May 29

Applications have been invited for the National Entrance Screening Test (NEST 2012) to be held across the country on May 29 for admission to a five-year integrated MS course at the National Institute of Science Education and Research and the University of Mumbai-Department of Atomic Energy (UM-DAE) Centre for Excellence in Basic Sciences, Mumbai, for the academic session 2012-13. In Kerala, Kochi and Kozhikode are the test centres. Those with at least 60 per cent marks (55 per cent for those belonging to the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes and the physically challenged) in aggregate or having equivalent grade in the class XII examination in the science stream in 2010 or 2011 may apply. Those appearing for the qualifying examination in 2012 will also be considered. Applications can be submitted on http://nestexam.in. Last date: March 7.
The Forest Research Institute, Dehradun, a deemed university, has invited applications for an admission test to be held on May 13 for M.Sc. courses in forestry, wood science and technology, environment management, and cellulose and paper technology. The Indian Institute Technology, Madras, has invited applications for admission to its MBA programme. Selection is based on the score in the Common Admission Test, 2011, of the Indian Institutes of Management, a group discussion, and an interview.
