The Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Uran Akademi, Rae Bareli, has invited applications for a written test to be held in Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow and Mumbai on July 1 for admission to its 18-month Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) training course. There are 150 seats.

The akademi is a pioneering flying training institution in the country with state-of-the-art training facilities. The test will have questions from general English, mathematics, physics and reasoning. Shortlisted candidates will be called for the Pilot Aptitude Test, a psychometric test and an interview.

Those who have passed Plus Two or equivalent examinations with at least 55 per cent marks in aggregate in maths and physics (50 per cent for those belonging to the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Communities) are eligible to apply. The applicants should have medical and physical fitness.

The application forms and details can be downloaded from www.igrua.gov.in. Applications may be submitted online too. The application fee is Rs. 6,000. The filled applications or the printout of the online application, along with documents, should be sent to the Director, IGRUA, Fursatganj Airfield, Rae Bareli – 229 302 so as to reach the addressee on or before May 26. The training fee is Rs. 26.5 lakh.

IICPT TEST

The Indian Institute of Crop Processing Technology (IICPT), Thanjavur, under the Union government, has invited applications for an entrance test to be held on June 17 in selected cities for admission to B.Tech., M.Tech. and Ph.D. programmes in food processing engineering.

Those who have passed Plus Two with good marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry are eligible for admission to the B.Tech. course in food process engineering. For the M.Tech. programme, the applicant should have passed the B.Tech. course with at least 70 per cent marks in aggregate, and for Ph.D., the M.Tech. course with 70 per cent marks in disciplines such as food processing engineering, agricultural engineering, and food science and technology with proven knowledge in mathematics.

Application forms and prospectus can be downloaded from www.iicpt.edu.in. The application fee is Rs. 500 (Rs. 250 for those belonging to the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes). The filled applications, along with documents, should be sent to the Director, IICPT, Thanjavur – 612 005 so as to reach on the addressee or before May 31.
