The Vector Control Research Centre, Indira Nagar, Puducherry, has invited applications for admission to an M.Sc. course in Public Health Entomology. The course is affiliated to Pondicherry University. Selection is through a common entrance test. There are 12 seats.

Those who have a B.Sc. degree in Zoology, Botany, Life Sciences, Medical Laboratory Technology, Microbiology or Biochemistry; B.V.Sc., MBBS, or BE or B.Tech. degree with biotechnology as one of the subjects are eligible to apply.

Visit www.vcrc.res.in for application forms and details. The application fee of Rs. 100 (Rs. 50 for those belonging to the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes) should be paid in the form of a demand draft drawn in favour of the Director, Vector Control Research Centre, payable at Puducherry. The applications, along with documents, including the draft, and a self-addressed envelope with Rs. 25 stamp should be sent by registered post to the Director, Vector Control Research Centre, Medical Complex, Indira Nagar, Puducherry – 605 006 so as to reach the addressee on before May 31. The selected students get a scholarship of Rs. 6,000 a month.

ME at BITS

The Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) has invited applications for admission to a four-year integrated ME programme in Computer Science, with specialisation in information security, on its Hyderabad campus. Those who have a B.Sc. degree in either Mathematics or Physics with the two subjects included in the course and at least 60 per cent aggregate marks are eligible to apply. Selection will be through an online test on June 7 and 8 in Pilani, Goa, Hyderabad, Chennai, Delhi, Bangalore, Kolkata, Nagpur and Noida. Visit www.bitsadmission.com for details. The selected students will be considered for a teaching assistanship of up to Rs. 8,000 a month. A partial tuition fee waiver scheme will be offered from the third year. In the first and second year, various merit scholarships of the institute will be on offer.

Apply online till May 30, and the printout of the application, along with proof of fee payment of Rs. 1,600, should be sent to the Admission Officer, BITS, Pilani – 333 031.

M.TECH. at NITS

Applications have been invited for admission to the M.Tech. and M.Plan courses at the National Institutes of Technology (NITs) in Kozhikode, Tiruchirapalli, Agartala, Allahabad, Bhopal, Durgapur, Hamirpur, Jaipur, Jalandhar, Jamshedpur, Kurukshetra, Nagpur, Patna, Raipur, Rourkela, Silchar, Srinagar, Surat, Suratkal and Warangal. Apply online on www.ccmt.in till May 25. Pay the application fee of Rs. 1,500 (Rs. 1,000 for those belonging to the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes) online. Applicants must have a score in the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering.
