KOZHIKODE: Hundreds of people, including women and children, took part in a satyagraha organised by the Onchiyam area committee of the Revolutionary Marxist Party (RMP) against political violence, at Vadakara. Litterateur Kalpetta Narayanan, who inaugurated the one-day satyagraha, accused the Purogamana Kala Sahitya Sangham of being a hit-gang in the cultural field. The silence of its members in the brutal killing of RMP leader T P Chandrasekharan lends a helping hand to the CPI (M), which was in the dock in the case. If these members had an iota of sincerity, they should speak out against political violence. They also had no right to say that everyone should keep their mouths shut, Narayanan said. He said the assailants disfigured the face of Chandrasekharan with more than 50 cuts with swords. The conspirators wanted to mutilate his face.
