ALAPPUZHA: An 11-year-old boy was crushed to death under the wheels of a private bus at Poonkavu Junction in the coastal road near here. The irate local people destroyed the bus creating tension for more than an hour in the area. The dead has been identified as Ranju, son of Rejeevan of Neelavelil house in Thumboli and a Class 5 student of St. Thomas School at Thumboli. The dead's cousin, Sarath, was riding a cycle and Ranju was sitting in its front portion when the speeding bus hit the cycle. In the impact of the hit, Ranju fell on to the road and one of the rear wheels of the bus ran over him.
