Poornima Bhagyaraj entered the film industry with Nenjil Oru Mul in Tamil and Manjil Virinja Pookkal in Malayalam. She stepped
into Kollywood in 1980 and acted in over 70 films including Vidhi and Neengal Kettavai. She bid adieu to acting after she got married in1984 to popular actor-director K Bhagyaraj.

Her last film was Ungal Veettu Pillai with Prabhu.And now, the actress is making her comeback with the film Aadhalaal Kaadhal Seiveer, directed by the National Award winning Suseenthiran of Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu and Azhagarsamiyin Kudhirai fame.
Aadhalaal Kaadhal Seiveer produced by Nallu Studios has music composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja.
