THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:  A 47 days trawling ban will be imposed from June 15 to July 31 during Monsoon in Kerala. Chief Minister Oommen Chandy said trawling ban by mechanized fishing boats during monsoon in the state would come into force from June 15. Trawling is banned in the state in view of the breeding period of different species of fishes during monsoon. The government has given an order to the boats from other states to leave the Kerala shore before July 14. He said Rs 50,000 will be given to Thesni who won the Geetha Chopra Bravery Award. Scholarship will also be given to her till she completes her plus-two education.

It has been decided to regularize the service of six causal works of KMML. The Cabinet has accepted the proposal of Nemom Vidyadiraja Medical College to appoint teaching and non-teaching staffs. Their entitlement will be decided after approval of Finance Department. Necessary medial and financial help will be provided to the children who suffered injuries in accident caused due to the falling of a tree over a building at Chembu-Kariyal.
