KANNUR: Kausalya, the mother of slain Yuva Morcha leader K T Jayakrishnan and her family will present a memorandum to Chief minister Oommen Chandy at Thiruvananthapuram  demanding a CBI inquiry into her son's murder case. According to BJP sources here, BJP State President V Muraleedharan and RSS Leader Gopalan will be among those who would accompany Kausalya when she meets the Chief Minister. The demand for reinvestigation of the case came from Jayakrishnan's family following the disclosure of T K Rajeesh, a key accused in the murder of RMP leader T P Chandrasekharan, saying he was involved in the crime.

Rajeesh reportedly informed the SIT probing the murder of Chandrasekharan of his involvement in the killing of Jayakrishnan and said only one real accused A Pradeepan was arrested by police in this connection and rest were not the real murderers. Jayakrishnan was killed in front of his students while he was taking class at the Mokeri East UP School on December 1, 1999. Rajeesh was never arrested in the case nor did he face any police interrogation. The Chief Minister had said on June 7, at Kannur guest house, the government was ready to order fresh investigation into various cases of political murders in the state, including the killing of K T Jayakrishnan, if new evidence was available. Meanwhile, the BJP District Unit announced it would organise a collectorate march on June 21 here demanding reinvestigation in the case.
