KANNUR: Putting an end to speculations, the photographs and posters of political leaders and Gods were removed from the walls of Kannur Central jail. A total of 253 portraits, including 97 of political leaders and 189 of Gods, were removed from the walls, pasted in different blocks.

DIG of Prisons, Northern Range, K Radhakrishnan said they have removed the portraits of political leaders and Gods as per the government order. He said there was no objection by the prisoners while removing the picture. Home Minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan had signed an order to remove the posters without any delay.
