KOCHI: INS Venduruthy, popularly known as Naval Base celebrated the 69th Anniversary of its service. Mayor of Kochi, Tony Chammany was the Chief Guest at the celebrations held at Naval Base. Addressing the gathering on the occasion, the Mayor expressed his admiration for Indian Navy and said the city of Kochi is proud of the Navy and its services to the nation. He also distributed the proficiency awards announced on the occasion of anniversary. Earlier, an anniversary cake was cut jointly by Commodore Ajay Kumar, Commanding Officer, Deepak Chahar, the youngest sailor and Sreedevi, the youngest civilian employee. This was followed by a variety entertainment programmes put up by the employees and the traditional community feast 'Badakhana'.
