THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state cabinet has given approval for state kkill development programme, Chief Minister Oommen Chandy said. Briefing on Cabinet decisions here, he said a detailed discussion regarding Additional Skill Acquisition Programme (ASAP) and Additional Skill Enhancement Programme (ASEP) was carried out and the Education Department and Labour Department has been instructed to prepare a detailed project report regarding the same. All help would be rendered by the Prime Minister's Skill Development Mission for the successful implementation of the project. The Higher Education Department, the General Education Department and the Labour and Employment Department would co-ordinate the functioning. It has been decided to start Primary Health Centers in 25 panchayats which lack at least one such centre. 12 PHCs would start functioning this year itself and the rest 12 in the next fiscal.
