KOZHIKODE: In a major embarrassment to the CPI (M), a senior party leader admitted his role in the murder of RMP leader T P Chandrasekharan. CPI (M) Kannur District Secretariat Member Karayi Rajan told the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the May 4 murder case that the rebel CPI (M) leader was done to death as he has become a major threat to the party, sources said. He said he had confabulated with N K Sunil Kumar alias Kodi Suni to plan the murder. Rajan also told the probe team that he had taken Sijith alias Annan Sijith, who was injured accidently by a co-assassin, in his car to a hospital in Kuthuparamba in Kannur District after the deed to provide him medical treatment. He will be produced to the Vatakara First Class Magistrate Court tomorrow, the sources added.
