KOLLAM: More than 50 passengers were injured in a head-on collision involving a Kerala State Road Transport Corporation bus and a private bus on the National Highway at Mylakkad, near here. Those injured were immediately rushed to nearby hospitals. Doctors said that all were out of danger. The KSRTC bus was on its way to Thiruvananthapuram from Kollam and the private bus was going to Kollam from Oyur. Eyewitnesses said the accident occurred when the KSRTC bus was overtaking another vehicle. The injured comprised a good number of women too. Union Minister for Overseas Indian Affairs Vayalar Ravi who happened to pass that way supervised the rescue operations for some time. The Kottiyam police have registered a case.
