THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state government is planning to bring a change in the syllabus at university level in the state. Inaugurating a skill development project here, Chief Minister Oommen Chandy said changes in the syllabus would be made after consultation with different Universities in the state. It was aimed at equipping the students to attain jobs, he added. The state is facing shortage of job opportunities not only in the skilled sector but also in the unskilled sector too, he said. Taking into account such a situation, the government has launched such a project, he said. Semi-skilled persons can achieve perfection through the additional skill acquisition programme, he added. Though IT sector is the one included in the project at present, hospitality, tourism, retail, health sectors too would be brought under this project soon, he said.
