KANNUR: CPI (M) Thalaasery area secretary M C Pavithran has been arrested by the Thalassery Police for his involvement in the incidents at Thalassery following the arrest of party district secretary P Jayarajan. Jayarajan was arrested on August 1 in connection with the Shukoor murder case. The police said Pavithran was arrested from Thalassery on Monday afternoon. Several CPI (M) workers were already arrested in connection with the outbreak of violence during protests against the arrest of Jayarajan.
