THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Veteran carnatic musician and music director of Malayalam, Tamil and Hindi films V Dakshinamoorthy has been selected for the  Swati Puraskaram for 2013. The award carries a cash prize of Rs one lakh, citation and a medal.

Swathi Puraskaram is the highest honour for musicians instituted by the state government. It's named after Swathi Thirunal Rama Varma, the Maharaja of the state of Travancore.
