While congratulating Kerala Kaumudi for the coverage given to each and every stage of Vizhinjam our dream project, I would like to share some of my views with Kaumudi.

While we all appreciate Chief Minister Oommen Chandy’s efforts in this regards, we should at the same time be very careful and cautious about his future  moves especially because he has only tried to protract the project in the past for the interest of Vallarapadom, Kochi and Dubai ports world which runs Vallarpadom. There is a chance that Chandy is trying to create impression that he is sincere in the project and at the same time acting in the interest of anti-Vizhinjam lobbies. This doubt has come only because Chandy has not so far taken any action against the resort lobbies who have violated CRZ norms though we all are very well aware that these resort lobbies are behind the litigations against Vizhinjam in Supreme Court and National Green Tribunal. Had the chief minister ordered action against the resort lobbies, the govt could have restricted their actions/ litigations in the courts. But that has not been done so far, which creates suspicion about the chief minister.

Secondly, Kaumudi should be very cautious and ensure that Vizhinjam is implemented during the tenure of this government as the next government (probably LDF) which is against BJP and Adani may drive them away, once they come to power if the work on the project is not started. This has happened earlier also immediately after the present UDF govt came to power. They drove away Welpson Consortium which was awarded work by the LDF govt. If work is awarded to Adani and work is started by them, we can very well ensure that this project is implemented without fail. Moreover, Adani who are close to Modi and BJP can very easily get all the sanctions accorded by the central govt. Hence it is very essential that Adani must implement this project, or else Trivandrum would certainly lose this project.

Kerala Kaumudi as ever before should be very vigilant in bringing into light the conspiracies against Vizhinjam for which many forces inside and outside the country are working round the clock. We the people of Trivandrum appreciate the way Kaumudi has given importance to all the developments connected with Vizhinjam. Please maintain this momentum till the project work starts. We must be very cautious. Sabotage against Vizhinjam can come in any way at any moment. We must prevent it.
