THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Thiruvananthapuram Vigilance court  has ordered an inquiry against ten officials including KSRTC MD and Executive director in a case in which they allegedly damaged the KSRTC Volvo buses with Bangalore permit, incurring a loss of Rs One crore  to the KSRTC.

The inquiry has been ordered against KSRTC depot Engineer S Shibu, Former Thiruvananthapuram CDO, P Babu Kumar, Depot Assitant Engineer Utthaman, former CMD Antony Chacko, Executive Director (Administration) K M Sreekumar, Executive Director (Vigilance) R Chandra Babu, and Vigilance Officer E John , Chief Accountant Officer R Sudhakaran, Vigilance Checkers Austine Raj and Sivakumar.

AC Volvo buses with permit till 2021 have been parked in sheds with engine failure. The allegation in the petition is that the officials connived with workshop technicians to refill the oil tanks with soaking oil during oil change.

The petition was filed by KSRTC Vizhinjam depot driver VY Sreekumar and Vithura Depot Vehicle Supervisor Jude Joseph in November 2106.

In the petition they alleged that the officials took monthly underhand payments from private bus operators’ lobby to inflict the above loss to the KSRTC.
