KASARGOD: A civil police official attached to the Armed Reserve Camp here was suspended from service after he was found to have circulated messages via social media flaying the recent state budget proposals.

Pramod, 42, senior civil police official, a native of Cheemeni in the district, was suspended from service, pending inquiry, by Superintendent of Police K G Simon on Wednesday for circulating WhatsApp messages among police personnel criticizing the budget proposals.

Action was taken against the police official after he was found to have violated service rules, said a senior police official here on Thursday.
