KOCHI: A friend of C A student Mishel, who died under mysterious circumstances, has revealed to the Crime Branch that Cronin, who is under arrest in this connection, used to physically and mentally harass her.

The friend said he used to call her to place near the hostel and harass her.  This revelation has strengthened the police’ suspicion that Cronin used to often fight with Mishel and she committed suicide due to his sadistic behaviour.

Cronin didn’t like Mishel getting close to anyone else. He wanted her to be completely subservient.

A friend of Mishel, who is doing higher studies in Chennai had already quoted Mishel to have said that she was finding it difficult to get along with Cronin.

Mishel also wanted to join her Chennai friend for studies but Cronin was against this.

In between this, Cronin used to quarrel with Mishel over her friendship with another person called Christy. He had called Christy and warned him against talking to Mishel.

The friend also told the investigators that Christy even beat Mishel once.
