ERUMELI: A man was arrested for allegedly sexually abusing her nine-year-old daughter after a police complaint lodged by her mother.

Though he had gone into hiding, he was arrested today. He was later presented in the court.

The incident happened in Erumeli police station limit. The mother told the police she had seen her 42-year-old husband abusing her daughter two months ago when she was returning from her work.  She quarrelled with him on that day but was beaten black blue. Fearing further undesired consequences, she didn’t approach the police.

When the father started repeating the crime, she lodged a complaint with the police. Police filed the case and arrested him after recording the statement of the child with the help of Child line workers
