THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A 32-year-old woman, who was in her eighth month of pregnancy, was killed after she fell off from a private hospital in the city in the early hours of Saturday.

The Medical College police identified the dead as Reshmi K Gopal, who hailed from Kanayannur in Ernakulam and resided in a rented facility at Pangappara. The accident occurred at 2 am when Reshmi fell from the eighth floor of Cosmopolitan Hospital at Murinjapalam.

An official said Reshmi, who was employed at the Legislative Assembly, suffered from depression for some time now and the incident was suspected to be a suicide bid, according to preliminary findings. “She jumped from the building after sliding open a window.” he said.
