THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A state police team scoured a lodge in Chennai for evidence that would help them identify the subsequent contacts and actions of the Nanthancode multiple murder case suspect Cadell Jeansen Raja.

Investigators said Cadell had checked into hotel on Pachiappa Street on Ellis Road in Chennai around 9 pm on April 9. He advanced Rs 2,000 for an air-conditioned suite but left soon after a wash and a change of clothes. Cadell was arrested in Thiruvananthapuram the next day. The police believe that Cadell had realised his game was up after he saw his photos on television as the prime suspect.

Investigators have seized the clothes and shoes he left at the room for forensic examination. They also recovered some cash he had stashed in his bag. Cadell, who is in police custody, was present during the police inspection.
