THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: District collector on Friday, cancelled the fake ledger ‘3587’ of the 50 acres of land at Kadakampally, which was a cause of much controversy and political debates. With this crucial decision, now the nearly 50 families that own this land can remit their tax.

The decision comes on the basis of the findings by the CBI that the ledger of the above mentioned land is fake.

Earlier, native of Palarivattom C K Jayaram, former Kadakampally village officer and deputy tahsildar Vidyodaya Kumar, Salim Raj’s sister’s husband C H Abdul Majeed, and other relatives A Nisar Ahamed, A M Abdul Ashraf, S M Salim got arrested along with Salim Raj, in connection with this case.

The case was handed over to the CBI after some people complained that there were irregularities in transactions.

Salim Raj had committed the fraud with the help of his wife who was an official with the revenue department. The case against Salim Raj is that he tried to take over the 44.5 acre land in Kadakampally by forging fake documents with the help of officials.
