South Indian star Varalekshmi will be the heroine in the film Kattu to be directed by Arun Kumar Aravind.  Asif Ali and Murali Gopi will play the central characters.

Varalakshmi is also acting in the Mammootty film directed by Ajay Vasudev.

The actress, the daughter of Tamil star Sharath Kumar, made her debut in Malayalam in Mammootty starrer Kasaba.
Meanwhile, the shoot of Kattu started in Palakkad the other day. The late director Padmarajan’s son Ananthapadmanabhan has scripted the film.

According to reports, Kattu tells the story of revenge. Arun Kumar himself is producing the film under the banner Karmayug.
Arun Kumar Aravind had come into the limelight through films such as Cocktail, Ee Aduthakalathu and Left Right Left.
He is doing the above film after a gap. His last film has been One By Two released in 2014.
