KOCHI: A 14-year-old boy was allegedly subjected to unnatural sex at the Aluva Municipal Library. The Aluva East Police registered a case, invoking charges under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012, based on a complaint filed by the parents of the minor boy. According to the police, the incident happened on Monday evening when the Class VIII boy went to the library. “He reached the library as soon as it opened in the evening. While he was selecting books on the first floor, a man not known to him forcefully took him to the unused second storey and subjected him to unnatural sex,” the police said. The boy managed to escape after sometime and revealed the ordeal to his parents.

“There was no one else besides the librarian at that time. The latter didn’t know about the incident though he noticed the boy running out and a middle-aged man leaving the library soon after that. We’re yet to identify the accused since no one else has seen him. However, a probe is on based on the statements given by the victim,” said V M Kerson, Sub Inspector, Aluva East.
