Mega star Mammootty will star in the biopic on Payyamvelli Chandu, the hero of Kerala folk lores. This is Hariharan’s new film and the title is Payyamvelli Chandu itself. This will be a big-budget film.

Hariharan had earlier also thought about making a film on Chandu and writer M T Vasudevan had come forward to write the script. But plans changed and he wrote the script of Pazhassiraja for Hariharan

Meanwhile, Hariharan said Ranjith has been entrusted to do the script for Chandu’s film. In 1989, Hariharan had brought out the blockbuster movie ‘Oruvadakkan Veergada in which Mammootty played Chandu Chekavar. The new project will see Mammootty again as that hero of Kerala folklore.
