THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Petrol pumps will remain closed on July 11 in response to a strike call by the Petroleum Dealers Coordination Committee demanding enhanced commission and steps to rectify the anomalies in the daily revision of fuel prices, among other things.

A press note issued by the committee on Thursday said the shutdown was part of a nationwide 24- hour agitation by petroleum dealers against the new pricing mechanism.

The dealers have decided not to lift stocks from oil companies on July 9 and 10. Pump owners would stage a dharna before the office of the State Oil Coordinator on July 11. They would also submit a memorandum to the Union Petroleum Minister highlighting their demands.
