THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Thampanoor police spotted a woman in drunken stupor near a liquor outlet with a six-month-old baby on Saturday night. Upon being alerted by local residents, police personnel were shocked to find the infant being carelessly handled by the 30-year-old woman, a native of Vizhinjam. She was found to be sharing liquor with some others near the Bevco outlet on the Power House road by around 10.30 pm.

While the others managed to flee from the area on seeing the police, the woman was caught by women police personnel. The baby was soon shifted to a protection home. Both the mother and the infant were handed over to their relatives who were called to the police station on Saturday.
