KOCHI: The Kerala High Court on Tuesday adjourned to next week the hearing on a bail petition filed by Manikandan, an accused who has been in jail since his arrest in February in the connection with the case relating to sexual assault on the actor.

When the petition came up for hearing, the prosecutor submitted in the court that Manikandan might be interrogated further in view of the new developments in the case.

If the accused was released on bail, it would affect the ongoing investigation in the case, the prosecution argued, opposing the bail plea.

The third accused in the case pointed out that the investigation in the case was complete and the police had already filed a charge sheet. Therefore, his continued detention in jail was not necessary.
