THRISSUR: Licence of hotels and restaurants, which fail to set up waste management system before September 15, will be cancelled, Minister for Local Administration K T Jaleel has said. He was addressing a workshop ‘District Panchayat Project implementation and Nava Kerala Mission’ at Kerala Institute of Local Administration at Mulangunnathukavu, near here, on Saturday.

The government is considering giving responsibility of conservation of water bodies to district panchayats. The minister said the Animal Birth Control clinic set up by the Thrissur Corporation was a model for the state.
