KOCHI: The high court has postponed the hearing on Dileep’s bail plea in the case relating to the attack of the actress in Kochi. The court said it’ll consider the bail application on Thursday.

The court postponed the hearing on Dileep’s bail plea at the request of the prosecution.

Earlier, Dileep has moved high court and submitted a bail application saying that he was arrested on the basis of doubt and that the argument that he will influence the witnesses if let out is baseless. His counsel has requested the hearing of the argument on Monday itself.

Dileep's advocate decided to approach the high court after the Angamaly judicial first class magistrate court rejected his bail plea. The prosecution has decided to oppose the bail plea at the high court by arguing that it will influence the course of investigation if Dileep is given bail. Besides the existing evidences, they have gathered more scientific evidences and statements.

The defendant can apply for bail at the district sessions court, if the magistrate court rejects the bail plea, but the counsel of Dileep skipped this and directly approached the high court.

Dileep had got legal advice that he should secure a bail before his manager Appunni gets arrested. It is reported that it is because of this that the counsel of the actor directly approached the high court.
