Mammootty starrer Pullikkaran Stara will hit theatres on September 1, the day on which Bakrid falls this year.
 
The film comes from the stable of Shyam Dhar after his directorial venture Seventh Day.
 
There will be special shows on the releasing date and on the birthday of Mammootty on September 7.
 
The mega star does the role of teacher's trainer Rajakumaran, who reaches Ernakulam from Idukki as part of Lalitham, an educational prject.
 
Asha Sharat and Deepthi Sathi are heroines. 
 
The film is being produced by B Rakesh under the banner Universal Cinema. Anto Joseph film company are the distributors of the film
 
The script has been authored by newcomer Ratheesh Ravi.
