The first-look poster of Roshen Andrew film Kayamkulam Kochunni, in which Nivin Pauly is doing the title role, is going viral. Nivin is seen in a never-before getup with thick moustache curled upwards, short-cropped hair, dagger and gun.

To get him virtually transformed to Kocunni, Nivin is now learning traditional martial arts like Kalaripayattu. The character will be speaking the slang of erstwhile Travancore ruled by kings.

This is for the second time that Kayamkulam Kochunni, a thief with lot of goodness in him and a character from the mythical stories of Kottarathil Shankunni, is being made a film. In the film with the same title released in 1966, Sathyan had appeared as Kochunni.

Since the topography of Kayamkulam has undergone a sea change today, a Sri Lankan village will become Kayamkulam in the film.

Sound designer of Bahubali and Thalash is working the sound effect part of the film. Boby-Sanjay will do the script and Amala Paul is the heroine.
