THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: On World elephant day on Saturday (Aug 12), there is some good news for elephant lovers. To know the elephant - to understand, love and respect the elephant. Society for Elephant Welfare (SEW) in association with the Kerala Forest Department, is organising a camp for little kids, their parents, guardians and teachers at the beautiful Elephant Centre and Camp at Konni. This is the first ever such camp being held in Kerala, according to its organisers.

Seminars, classes, debates and discussions, where activists, conservationists and Forest Department officials shall participate and share their love for the elephant will organised on the day. There will also be an exciting trek in the woods organized by the officials at Konni Camp, especially for tiny tots.

The highlight of the events of the day is the Art Competition organised by the SEW at the Konni Camp.

(World Elephant Day is an international annual event on August 12, dedicated to the preservation and protection of the world's elephants.)
