PERINTALMANNA: A youth was shot dead in Peritalmanna in Malappuram on Sunday evening. The dead has been identified as Manathumangalam native Masin. He was a paramedical student. The initial inference is that the bullet was shot from an airgun. Perintalmanna police have started the investigation.

The youth was rushed to a private hospital in Perintalmanna with bullet injury on his neck. Two persons had taken him to the hospital on a bike after making him sit wedged between them. But he succumbed to his injuries by the time he was brought to the hospital.

Meanwhile, what has puzzled the police is his ‘rescuers’ fled from the hospital soon after his death. Police now suspect their role in the shooting incident.
