KOCHI: The police have decided to wait till the high court verdict on Nadirsha’s anticipatory bail-plea on Wednesday, as the actor-director is now demanding a notice with supporting documents from the police if he has to appear before them for questioning.

Nadirsha had earlier informed the investigating team about his willingness to appear for questioning but is now demanding a notice for the same. The police, on the other hand, say that they have already issued a notice for him to appear for questioning on September 6, and hence it’s impossible to issue a second one.

The investigating team is of the opinion that it’s unnecessary to take Nadirsha in custody for questioning in haste as his anticipatory bail-plea is in consideration of the HC.

However, the prosecution will argue against granting Nadirsha an anticipatory bail. It is also reported that Dileep’s advocate B Raman Pillai will submit a third bail-plea for the actor at the HC on Wednesday. He would argue that the investigation of the case of the abduction and attack of the actress is in its final stage, and a charge sheet against Dileep has not been submitted yet.

Though the police had issued a notice to Nadirsha to appear for questioning on September 6, the actor-director got himself admitted in a private hospital in Kochi to evade this. The police then asked him to appear for questioning soon after he recovers but after five days of hospitalisation, Nadirsha got himself discharged on Sunday evening and left the hospital with his friends without intimating anyone as to where he was going. He also left his own car at the hospital. The police, expecting him to appear for questioning, waited the entire day on Monday at the Aluva Police Club, but he didn’t turn up.

The charge against Nadirsha is that he deliberately hid his knowledge about the conspiracy behind the attack of the actress case. Also, the police alleges that Nadirsha hid some facts about the case when he was questioned before and instead gave misleading information.
