KOCHI: In connection with the murder of an old couple inside their house at Tholannur in Palakkad, police have arrested one person. Ernakulam Paravur native Sudarshanan was arrested on Wednesday. He is a friend of their daughter in law and he is being questioned.

Swaminathan (72) and wife Premakumari (62) were found murdered inside their house. Swaminathan’s throat was found slit open and his wife was found to have been strangled to death.

The murder happened in the night the other day. Though Swaminathan had complained to the police a week ago about the threat to their life, no inquiry was held into it. The couple has a son and daughter. At the time of alleged murder, no one was inside the house.  

Their son is an army officer. and daughter is abroad.
